I am a bit of an introspective daydreamer; to strangers I may sometimes appear to be preoccupied or to have my head in the clouds. My close friends know that I spend a lot of time in my head because that is where I formulate my devious plots to take over the Universe. Oops… did I say “devious plot to take over the Universe”? What I meant to say was that I spend so much time thinking because it is the fuel for my creative desires. I may be crafting a witty retort to a friend as part of a friendly debate, or thinking of the perfect joke or comeback for a particular situation. If you follow Astrology (I certainly don't swear by it but I like the fact that it makes you think about different personality types), I am both a typical and an atypical Leo. I love to make people laugh and don't mind being the center of attention around friends, but I am mostly an introvert who prefers to spend the majority of his time in solitude. Like Leos, I consider myself to be very generous, warm-hearted, and I definitely have a strong creative streak. But unlike the lion of the Zodiac, I am certainly not ever pompous or dogmatic with my opinions or in dealing with people. I have very strong opinions and I have no problems expressing them, but this does not mean that I believe I am 'right' nor that I am not open to other people's viewpoints. Quite the contrary… I am energized by heated discussions and ideals that differ from my own. However, I don't like to waste my time with those who don't have the ability to listen. I have developed a very fine sense in determining whether a person is actually listening or merely 'hearing', waiting for their turn to speak. Listening is definitely a lost art form.

In my free time, I mainly enjoy events associated with the arts, primarily music. I love going out to see live bands play, and although my club-hopping days are long gone I still like going out to a club to hear a friend or a favorite DJ spin good music that fosters positive vibes (or at least makes you want to shake that ass all over the dance floor). I also work part-time promoting for a NYC-based record label, so you can often find me at various spots around Miami and Fort Lauderdale making sure our music is heard by the masses. But ultimately, it's all about the company you keep. Even the most mundane activities can be energizing and enjoyable as long as your with kindred spirits. There was an article written a few years ago which left me speechless at how well it categorized my personality: “We are the puzzle pieces who seldom fit with other puzzle pieces. Romantics, idealists, eccentrics, we inhabit singledom as our natural resting state. In a world where proms and marriage define the social order, we are, by force of our personalities and inner strength, rebels.” Yup… that's me in a proverbial nutshell.
